Financial Stress is Everywhere
There are so many people under financial stress at this time. Homeless shelters are full. Food Banks can't keep their shelves stocked. People can't find work or meet their families' needs. This prayer was shared with me recently. I think it is beautiful and well worth sharing.
Why turn to Mary?
Just imagine....in the act of saying "YES" to all that God asked of her, our Blessed Mother was given a soul that magnifies the Lord in every thought, word and deed. Her very being became a mirror before God, reflecting and radiating the God she worships and adores to all she comes in contact with. Mary, Our Mother, received the greatest of blessings by keeping her face turned to God. She received God the Father fully by perpetually adoring Him. She then received His greatest gift, His Son Jesus Christ within her own womb! She was chosen from all women, from the beginning of humanity until the end to be the physical tabernacle of Our Lord Jesus, for nine months!
We must learn to imitate Dear Mary, by letting Christ inside. What better person to help us learn to love Jesus as a mother loves her child, than Our Blessed Mother? EVERYTHING about her points away from self and towards her son. Isn't that what Jesus most desires from each of us?
Walmart has nothing on her!
Where do you go when you really need something in the middle of the night or in the wee hours of the morning? Around these parts, there is really only one place open 24/7 and that is Walmart? Last I checked though, Walmart was all out of Financial Distress Reliever in a can! So, what to do?
Remember how Jesus could not refuse his dear Mother's request to do something for the hosts at the Wedding at Cana, when they ran out of wine? With the very same loving concern, she will go to Her Son, our Lord Jesus, asking for tender mercies. Her heart is open to us perpetually...24/7 some might say, and I'll wager that she has WAY more power and influence than Walmart, any day, or any minute for that matter!
Mary is Mother to us all, whether or not you are Catholic. When Jesus, in his dying breathes told St. John the Beloved, "Behold your mother, He gave her to us all!
Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Pray for Us.
A Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help
Mary, our Mother, we know that you are our perpetual help, not only in our spiritual need, but in our material need as well.
With humble hearts and childlike confidence we beg you to help us in our present financial stress.
Due to unforeseen circumstances,we are now in dire need since we can not meet our just debts.
Dear Mother, we are not asking for wealth or prosperity, but merely for help in satisfying our pressing obligations.
You are the Queen of Heaven and Earth and as such, the dispenser of so many favors granted by your son, Jesus.
We know you are most generous and kind to all your devoted children.
Loving Mother, we plead with you to obtain the financial help we so desperately need in our present situation. We thank you dear Mother, and promise to make your perpetual help known far and wide.
Amen

The children's illnesses include: Auto-Immune Liver Disease, Type I Diabetes (insulin dependent), and Ewing's Sarcoma (a form of bone cancer). This has been an incredible journey of faith for the Flemming Family. While they don't fully understand why any of this happened to their children, they place their trust and faith totally in God's goodness. By sharing their faith journey, their hope is that other people will be drawn closer to The Holy Trinity (The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit). It is Mary's great hope that the sufferings of her children and family will be received by God for the conversion of souls. JESUS, WE TRUST in YOU!
